Pre-Trip Thoughts from our Travelers

As you reflect back on the last year, please share your thoughts regarding the China trip.

Possible questions to respond to:
What made you want to go?
Have you ever traveled before?
What do you currently think about China?
What do you hope to get out of this experience?
How are you feeling about this now that we are less than a month away?

I wanted to go for a while after they first came and told us if World History last year. For a while I lost interest then it came back up when my friends said they were going, so I decided to go. I've traveled before, I used to live in Korea =). I don't know much about China, but as of now I think it's a really cool country. I hope to get to learn about the culture and see a lot of things. I'm not too excited (as in nervous/jittery)yet, but I think I will be soon

Naturally I was excited to be able to sponsor this trip to China. Not only do I love this part of the world but I think it is so valuable for students to have the opportunity to go to another country and experience another culture. I'm so excited to be traveling with these students. I know we are going to have a good time and have memories that will last forever. Now I just have to get packed. :)

I love to travel and experience different cultures. I thought China would be a good way to do that. Yes, I have traveled before; inside and outside the U.S.A. I would like to have a better idea of outside cultures and gain a new perspective on life, while doing something I love to do (travel). Seeing as the trip is so close and less than 24 days away, I have all of my family and friends asking me if I am excited to go. And I am. This trip is going to be so much fun. I can't wait!

The first time the trip was mentioned in the school's news paper, I just couldn't believe it. I felt a rush of excitement course through me at the thought of being in China! So far I've only ever traveled within the United States and this trip is going to blow my mind away. To see and experience a new culture...I've got butterflies ^-^ Just three weeks from now. I can't wait. It'll be eye opening and I'm glad I get to share this with wonderful friends. <3

MC2 - Having travelled all over Europe in 1990 as a college student, this is my first trip abroad since then. I am honored to be chaperoning the trip with Ms. Archer, who poured an amazing amount of energy into getting this trip off of the ground.

We have been bonding as a group, practicing to eat with chop sticks, studying Chinese culture (music and customs) eating rice, and raising funds, which to date has already been a wonderful experience. Can't wait to bring my camera and work on our blog every evening, to not only tell you about our days in China, but show you as well. - 欢呼!

I am super excited for this trip. Ever since I was little, I enjoyed traveling and have always wanted to go to China! I have only been out of the country once, and it was so cool! Also, I am super thrilled that one of the other groups going is deaf. I went to an elementry school where some of the kids were deaf. I can know fluent sign language and can't wait to start the trip! Only 3 weeks left!

Hi daddy/MC2 have you seen anything yet? I hope you're having a good time! I miss you so much, I think about you all day every day. Guess what dad for my birthday party we're still doing a 50's party but for one of the games all of the girls get to wear bright red lipstick and we're going to print out a big Elvis poster and then play place the kiss on Elvis. It's just like pin the tail on the donkey except we're going to kiss the picture of Elvis
